Boy Hears Shot, Finds Grandmother Slain
An 11-year-old boy found his grandmother shot to death Tuesday shortly after he heard a gunshot and saw his mother drive off in a car with her boyfriend, police said.
Clara Dailey was killed in the bedroom of her home on Valencia Street in the Pico-Union area at about 6 a.m., said Detective Charles Salazar. The boy, who was not identified, lived with his grandmother; his mother, Shawn Dailey, 36; her boyfriend and two other children who were away at a church camp, investigators said.
Salazar said investigators have not determined the motive for the shooting.
