Video Rentals : ‘Prince’ Looking to Unseat ‘Cradle’

Barbra Streisand’s “The Prince of Tides” soon may become the No. 1 rental on the Billboard magazine chart, having premiered this week at No. 3. According to some retailers, the popular drama, co-starring Nick Nolte, definitely has enough appeal to unseat “Cradle.” Second-place “Hook” may forever be an also-ran. It probably won’t go to No. 1 next week, its last chance before the surge of potential chart-toppers--”White Men Can’t Jump” and “Fried Green Tomatoes,” both out today.

* Has “Juice’s” rental potential dried up already? It remained at No. 12--where it entered the chart last week.
