Paterno to Determine Players’ Penalties
Three Penn State football players charged in connection with fighting will remain on the team, and any school discipline will be determined by Coach Joe Paterno.
Wide receivers O.J. McDuffie and Rick Sayles, both 22, were charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges after a series of fights in downtown State College, Pa., on July 10. Police said the two interfered with officers who were attempting to break up the fights.
Cornerback Mark S. Graham, 23, was given a summary citation for disorderly conduct, a lesser charge.
A school spokesman said Paterno will speak with the three players and “take whatever action he regards as appropriate.”
