VISTA : Rapist Posing as Officer Attacks Girl
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is warning North County residents about a man who told a 13-year-old girl he was a police officer Tuesday night, drove her to an open area and sexually assaulted her.
The girl was standing outside a convenience store in the 1500 block of North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista about 11:30 p.m. when the man approached her, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
The man was wearing a tank top and what was described as an empty shoulder holster. He told the girl that he was a police officer and was going to arrest her for being outside after curfew.
He then placed her in the back seat of a dark sedan parked nearby and drove to an open space, the spokesman said.
The girl tried to run away but the man chased her and sexually assaulted her, he said.
