ANAHEIM — Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. said Friday that it has signed agreements to continue its expansion into Mexico with the opening of several Carl’s Jr. restaurants next year in Mexico City.
The company has signed up two licensees to open restaurants in the Mexican capital. CJR de Mexico S.A. de C.V. and Norteamericana de Comercio S.A. de C.V. have each committed to open 10 Carl’s Jr. restaurants in their respective territories. Each has exclusive rights to a specific section of the greater metropolitan area of Mexico City.
They will join three previous licensees who are expected to open 50 restaurants in Mexico in the next five years. Three are in Monterrey, including the world’s largest Carl’s Jr. Also, openings are expected by the end of the year in Tijuana and Guadalajara.
