SAN DIEGO : Four Wounded in a Stabbing, Shootings

Several San Diego residents were injured in stabbing and shooting incidents late Friday and early Saturday, police reported.

Mario Medina, 27, and Virginia Manriquez, 28, were both stabbed while walking along El Cajon Boulevard near 50th Street shortly before midnight, police said. Two carloads of Asian males attacked the two, stabbing both victims in the lower back.

Medina was treated and released for a minor wound at Mercy Hospital, and Manriquez was reported in good condition. Police said they have no motive for the attack and an investigation is continuing.

Shortly after the East San Diego incident,, Delezo Whitney, 16, was shot once in the left thigh while walking in the 2900 block of Imperial Avenue in Southeast San Diego, police said.

Two black males in a burgundy Toyota fired five or six shots at Whitney before speeding off, police said. Whitney was treated for his wound at the UCSD Medical Center. There are no suspects in the case, police said.

Just past midnight, a 17-year-old Asian male standing with a group of eight other men in the 100 block of Sumatra Lane in the Skyline district was shot by 12 other Asian males who confronted him, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was shot once in the back and once in the left arm and was taken to UCSD Medical Center, where he is in fair condition.
