OUTLOOK

La Habra’s strength is at the skill positions with wide receivers Busch and Hawkins and running backs Lopez and Reed returning. The big question is at quarterback, where juniors Abbott and Woolf are vying for the starting position. Busch caught 30 passes for 386 yards and three touchdowns last season. “We’re quick defensively and very physical,” Nicholls said. “The biggest concern is a lack of depth on the team and at quarterback.” La Habra failed to reach the playoffs the past three seasons under Nicholls after dominating the Freeway League in the 1980s by winning a total of seven champoinships in 10 seasons.
