OUTLOOK

The Fighting Irish will try to rebound from poor league finishes the past two years. Kennedy tied with Los Amigos for last in 1990 with a 1-6 record and went 2-5 last year, finishing sixth in the eight-team league. But with a good group of returning starters, Olson could have the team back in the battle for a playoff spot. “I don’t think there is anybody in the league we can’t play with,” Olson said. “It’s the hardest working group of kids I’ve ever had.” Two key offensive players are Guthrie, an All-Garden Grove quarterback who passed for 1,257 yards and 11 touchdowns, and Mobley, who rushed for 761 yards and eight TDs. Guthrie’s primary target will be Morris (25 receptions, three TDs). Iverson, an all-league pick last year, is one of the mainstays on defense. He had 58 solo tackles, 50 assists and two interceptions last season.
