Glendale : Helping Hurricane Victims
Glendale and La Crescenta residents unable to reach immediate family members in the area affected by Hurricane Andrew may contact the Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, (818) 243-3121, for help.
The chapter is also collecting money donations for the disaster relief effort. A representative said donations are especially needed because the large number of disasters in the last year have depleted the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The national organization has responded to 14 major disasters since April, including the Los Angeles riots and the Yucca Valley and Big Bear earthquakes.
Contributions for Hurricane Andrew and other disaster relief may be sent to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, American Red Cross, Glendale-Crescenta Valley Chapter, 1501 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale 91204.
