Love Her Madly

Did you really not receive any approving comments regarding Courtney Love? I’m disappointed. All printed remarks last Sunday were frighteningly shortsighted in terms of what is important about artists. Love may have a reprehensible personality. But who cares? I’m sure she doesn’t.

She’s obviously a serious artist. She has been devoted, body and soul, to cutting-edge music for several of the few years she’s been alive. She found her way to Dylan’s hometown, illustrating an important obsession serious musicians must have: to immerse themselves in research of music history’s heroes.

Love is already influential. That’s why she’s important.
