Tommi Ahvala of Sweden rode a nearly flawless competition, taking second place and earning a seven-point lead in motorcycling’s World Championship Observed Trials at Watkins Glen, N.Y.
The highest American finisher in the individual competition was Geoff Aaron of Redding, Conn., who was 30th with 154 points.
