PLATFORM : Tarnished State

I love California. I would never think of leaving. But if I were a young person starting out in life, I think I’d steer away from the Golden State.

In the past, when California was truly the Golden State, there were basic things that you could count on: jobs, good weather, reasonably priced homes, a relatively low crime rate and an A-1 educational system.

Now, even the weather seems off and the only thing that is certain is an uncertain future.

So while the folks who run this state continue to bicker and carry on like children and while real estate continues to remain criminally high, I’ll be watching in pain the ongoing erosion of our communities through crime, a failed educational system and a sagging economy. For the young, you have to do what you have to do. But in my case, I’m prepared to go down with the ship.
