San Dimas : City Weighs Budget Cuts
Revenue cuts imposed by the state last week may require eliminating nine full- and part-time positions, reducing other services, and cutting back on redevelopment projects, City Manager Bob Poff told the City Council on Tuesday.
The new state budget will force the city to give up $162,000 in General Fund taxes and $260,000 in redevelopment revenues, Poff said. The city could save $193,500 by not filling those nine positions, which are vacant; $20,900 by scaling back street maintenance and other city services, and $4,500 by reducing engineering and park maintenance, he said.
The City Council may make a formal vote on the cutbacks at its Sept. 22 meeting.
