Death or Life Term Sought in Slaying
Prosecutors filed special-circumstances allegations Wednesday against the two men accused of killing Grossmont High School student Tameka Henderson. If convicted, the men will face either life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
The special circumstances were filed against Aaron Hill and Alex Love, alleging the pair were lying in wait for Henderson in June. Both men are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Henderson, 17, was shot about 8:30 p.m. June 3 after she left her job at a La Mesa photography studio. She was killed when a masked gunman opened fire through the driver’s-side window of her car.
Special circumstances will allow the prosecution to seek either the death penalty or life in prison without parole if Love and Hill are found guilty.
Both men have pleaded not guilty and are being held in lieu of $2 million bail. Superior Court Judge Frederic L. Link set the trial for Jan. 11.
