Pacific Palisades : Arbitration in Scout Dispute

Share

The Western Los Angeles County Council of the Boy Scouts and Pacific Palisades resident Winston Salser, who have been embroiled in a legal fight over the Scouts’ use of Casale Road, have entered into arbitration talks in an attempt to resolve their differences, said the Scouts’ attorney, Keith Bardellini.

The road is the sole access route to Camp Josepho, a Scout facility in upper Rustic Canyon surrounded by Topanga State Park. About 900 feet of the road runs in front of the Pacific Palisades home Salser bought a little more than a year ago.

Salser attempted in court to prevent the Boy Scouts from using the road with claims that the Boy Scouts had no easement to use it. Both parties have agreed to refrain from making remarks about each other in public during negotiations.
