WHITE SANDS AGAIN? What do you get when you put half a million people on Orange County’s beaches? Cans, bottles, paper plates, and last year someone even left a pistol. . . . But the state Coastal Commission is back this Saturday with its annual Adopt-a-Beach cleanup day. The idea is not only to clean the state’s beaches, but to impress upon people to keep them clean year-round. . . . Says Orange County coordinator Marianne Excel: “We hope to clean every beach in the county. If anyone wants to volunteer, just show up and we’ll give you a plastic bag.”
