Migrant Held by INS Found Dead in Cell
U.S. Border Patrol agents are investigating the death of an illegal immigrant, who was discovered dead in a cell where he was being held with several other men Sunday, El Cajon police said.
The man, whose name and age had not been released Sunday night, was found dead at 12:35 p.m. Sunday at the U.S. Border Patrol Station off Kenney Street. Paramedics were immediately summoned but they were unable to revive the man.
It appeared that the victim had died as a result of being strangled, police said.
The man’s death will be investigated by the El Cajon Police and the FBI.
