Wacholder’s 21 Kills Lead Laguna Beach

Rachel Wacholder had 21 kills to help Laguna Beach, ranked No. 2 in Orange County, to a three-game sweep of No. 5 Newport Harbor Thursday at Laguna Beach.

Wacholder, a senior who led the Artists to the Southern Section 5-A title last season, also had two blocks and 13 digs in the 15-12, 15-11, 15-9 victory. Hilary Kyle added 17 kills and 11 digs and setter Christy Collison had 26 assists, six digs and two service aces.

Sophomore Misty May had 15 kills for Newport Harbor (1-1).
