Hawaiian Airlines Lowers Fares: The carrier lowered round-trip air fares to Hawaii from the West Coast to stimulate traffic in the wake of Hurricane Iniki. A round-trip to Hawaii from several West Coast cities, including Los Angeles, will cost $199. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 15 and travel completed by Dec. 16. Hawaiian Airlines says reservations have fallen 15% since Iniki struck the islands last week. However, the pace of reservations at Continental, Delta, Northwest and United airlines has remained unchanged, the carriers said. None of the carriers have yet to match the Hawaiian fare cut.
