Article on Inventions Doesn’t List 2 Barriers

As an independent inventor, I would like to mention two very important barriers to new medical products that were missed in the article “Nothing Ventured” (Sept. 9).
In addition to the lack of financing, which was stressed in the article, the bigger obstacles to bringing a new product to market are the prohibitive product liability insurance rates, plus crippling state and federal regulations and product testing requirements.
