Assistant D.A. to Be Honored by Bar Assn.
Ventura County Assistant Dist. Atty. Colleen Toy White has been chosen to receive the Ben E. Nordman Award at the Ventura County Bar Assn.’s annual dinner in November.
Nordman was a Ventura County attorney who encouraged lawyers to be active in civic affairs.
White, 48, was selected for this year’s award because of her volunteer work for several agencies, said Georgianna Pennington, chairwoman for the dinner.
White’s causes include child abuse, spouse abuse, the United Way, youth organizations and health agencies, Pennington said.
A Camarillo resident, White earned her law degree at Ventura College of Law and has worked in the district attorney’s office for 15 years.
The bar association’s annual dinner will be held Nov. 14 at the Mandalay Beach Resort in Oxnard. Tickets are $75 per person and may be obtained by calling the association at 653-5252.
