SAN DIEGO : Death Sought for 2 Accused in Slaying
Prosecutors announced Monday that they will seek the death penalty in the case of two men accused in the slaying of an elderly Clairemont couple.
Randall Clark Wall, 23, and John Richard Rosenquist, 28, have been charged with special special circumstance allegations that make them eligible for the gas chamber.
Both men are charged with the bludgeoning murder of John Oren, 84, and his wife Katherine, 73, even though Wall admitted to investigators that he was the one who wielded the pipe used in the attack.
The couple’s 10-year-old great-grandson was spared during the March 1 attack during which the men also allegedly robbed cash and credit cards.
Wall, who lived with the couple for a short time while he was dating their granddaughter, and Rosenquist are being held without bail. A trial has been scheduled for March 22.
