Frohnmayer on GOP Platform
Bravo to John Frohnmayer for finally announcing his true and righteous beliefs! His column (“Contempt for the Constitution,” Commentary, Sept. 16), fervently supporting the separation of church and state and eloquently exposing the Republican Party’s platform as one which advocates converting the United States into a church-state, should have been offered while he was chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts.
There’s an important lesson to be learned from his waffling and weaseling capitulation to the Ayatollah Bush’s demands for art untainted by reality and homosexuals. Compromising one’s integrity in order to hang onto one’s job can have two infelicitous results--damage to one’s integrity and loss of one’s job.
