Has ‘Gave All’ Given Its All?

Share

This is probably Billy Ray Cyrus’ last week at No. 1 on the Billboard magazine pop album chart. His “Some Gave All” has ruled for 17 weeks. Country-music colleague Garth Brooks will almost certainly take over next week, when his new album hits the chart--based on how retailers say it’s been selling since it came out Tuesday. The soundtrack from the movie “Singles” jumped from No. 16 to No. 7. Ugly Kid Joe’s “America’s Least Wanted” didn’t do that well in its second week on the chart, slipping from No. 29 to No. 32. “End of the Road,” by Boyz II Men, is still the No. 1 pop single.

* This political rap group’s latest collection--part new and part remixes--has received some good reviews, which should help boost it into the Top 10. It premiered at a lofty No. 13.
