VOLLEYBALL : UCLA, CSLB Play at Home

The top-ranked UCLA and third-ranked Cal State Long Beach women’s volleyball teams return from several weeks on the road for home matches tonight.
UCLA (7-0), the defending NCAA champion for the second consecutive season, plays host to No. 20 Washington (5-1) tonight at 7 in its home opener, then will play No. 23 Washington State (10-1) on Saturday night. Long Beach (5-1) plays No. 13 Hawaii (5-3) tonight and Saturday night at 7:30.
UCLA is led by Natalie Williams, a 6-foot-1 senior outside hitter who was selected most valuable player of the NCAA tournament the last two years.
Marissa Hatchett, a 6-1 senior middle blocker, holds UCLA records for solo blocks (110); block assists (506) and total blocks (616).
Long Beach is led by 6-2 middle blocker Danielle Scott, a first-team All-American last season. The 49ers’ loss was in their home opener on Sept. 4 to second-ranked Stanford (6-0).
