Van Horn Leads Edison’s Victory Over Las Vegas Eldorado

Chet Van Horn rushed for 66 yards in 17 carries and scored two touchdowns, helping Edison High School to a 24-7 victory over Las Vegas Eldorado Friday in Las Vegas.

Eldorado took a 7-0 lead when John Carter ran for a 14-yard touchdown. Van Horn countered for Edison, scoring on a one-yard run later in the second quarter to tie the game, 7-7. Jeremy Simmons also scored in the second quarter to give the Chargers a 14-7 lead.

Van Horn scored his second touchdown for Edison on a four-yard run in the third quarter to give the Chargers a 21-7 lead.

Edison quarterback Jeff Bell finished with 149 yards passing, completing nine of 15 attempts with no interceptions. His leading receiver was Adam Cancelleri, who caught two passes for 50 yards.

Eldorado quarterback Tim Hernandez completed seven of 15 passes for 56 yards, but two of his passes were intercepted.
