BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : DODGERS : Scioscia Cleans Out the Memories
Mike Scioscia performed what might have been one of the most difficult tasks of his Dodger career this week.
For the first time in 13 years, he cleaned out his locker.
Scioscia is a potential free agent this winter. When the Dodgers play the Houston Astros on Sunday in the home finale, it could be his last game here in a Dodgers uniform.
“I found stuff at the bottom of my trunk that was 12 years old,” Scioscia said. “I found photographs from 1984.”
Scioscia’s belongings, which have been collecting in his locker since he was recalled from triple-A Albuquerque for the second half of the 1980 season, filled five boxes.
Darryl Strawberry is expected to return to the clubhouse this weekend for the first time since undergoing back surgery Sept. 15. . . . Duke Snider has decided to retire as SportsChannel’s Dodger commentator. Friday night’s game was his last.
