Decriminalizing Adult Drug Use
Re the report (“Judge Suggests Decriminalization of Drug Use by Adults,” Sept. 17) that a third Orange County judge has recommended decriminalizing street drugs and wants the government to sell them: This raises very many questions that have not yet been answered. Among the more important questions are:
When these drug users blow their minds and are unable to provide for themselves, who will provide them with food? Who will provide them shelter? Who will provide them medical care?
Also, will the government be held liable for aiding these people in destroying their minds and bodies, allowing multimillion-dollar lawsuits against the taxpayers?
