Cesar Cedeno, who won five Gold Gloves with the Houston Astros, was charged with attacking police after he allegedly beat his pregnant girlfriend.
Cedeno, 41, was arrested Saturday after he took a nightstick from an officer who was trying to subdue him, police said in Kissimmee, Fla. His girlfriend, Pamela Lamon, claimed he beat her, but no domestic battery charges were filed, according to police reports.
Cedeno was charged with aggravated battery, resisting arrest with violence, and battery on a law enforcement officer. He was released on $2,500 bail.
Cedeno, 41, is a coach with the Gulf Coast Astros, Houston’s minor-league team in Kissimmee.
