EMI to Buy Christian Music Company: EMI Music has agreed to acquire Nashville-based Sparrow Corp., the world’s largest independent Christian music company, for an undisclosed price. Sparrow had sales of more than $30 million in the fiscal year ending June 30. Its recording acts include Steven Curtis Chapman, BeBe & CeCe Winans and Debby Boone. New York-based EMI is one of the world’s biggest music companies, with annual sales of more than $2 billion.
