World IN BRIEF : LEBANON : Peacekeeper Among 9 Dead in Clashes

Pro-Iranian Hezbollah guerrillas armed with rockets battled Israeli-allied militiamen and U.N. troops in southern Lebanon, leaving nine people dead and 12 wounded, officials said. An Irish peacekeeper, six guerrillas and two civilians were killed during the guerrilla raid in Israel’s self-proclaimed security zone and retaliatory bombardment, Lebanese officials said.
