LAST CALL: Al Conin, whose nine-year reign as the radio voice of the Angels ends after Sunday’s season finale, plans on issuing a “thank you” statement to listeners before signing off. Conin’s contract was not renewed by radio station KMPC for what general manager Bill Ward called reasons of “artistic judgment.” . . . “One of the nice things that’s come out of this,” says Conin, “is the way people have reached out to me.”
