CSUN’s Farmer to Test Knee Against Idaho

Share

After missing the past three games because of a knee injury, Cal State Northridge tailback Jamal Farmer will play in a reserve role Saturday at Idaho.

Farmer, a highly touted transfer from Hawaii, underwent arthroscopic surgery Sept. 16 to remove cartilage from his left knee.

“I don’t expect him to go in and win the game for us,” Northridge Coach Bob Burt said. “I just want him to get some confidence back in his knee.”

Tailback Robert Trice, who started in Farmer’s absence and ran for more than 100 yards in each of Northridge’s two wins, will not make the trip to Moscow because of a nagging left hamstring injury.

Jess Garner, the team’s backup fullback, will start in a single-back scheme.

Backup quarterback Coley Kyman, who suffered a partial separation in his right (throwing) shoulder in Saturday’s 14-0 loss to Central Oklahoma, threw Thursday for the first time and has been cleared to play.
