PETER PRINCIPLE

Share

I got more useful information from the letters published (Sept. 6) on the review of “The Last Tsar” than I did from Edvard Radzinsky’s book. Thank you.

The idea that the Romanov dynasty died with Peter III is correct. The Russian people have been deceived all these centuries and probably have not known it. The fact that these German and Danish rulers perpetuated an empire that included non-Russian subjects (Ukrainians, Poles, Balts, etc.) should be condemned even at this late date.

Also, the woman with Nicholas II in your photo is not his wife, Alexandra, but his oldest daughter, Olga.
