BREA : Applicants Sought for Panel Positions

The city is now accepting applications from residents for appointments to a number of commissions and committees. Positions are open for the Planning Commission, Cultural Arts Commission, Parks, Recreation and Human Services Commission, Brea Foundation, Brea Beautification Committee and Brea Historical Committee.
Terms of office will be from Jan. 1, 1993, to Dec. 31, 1994.
Applications may be obtained at the city clerk’s office, Level 3, Brea Civic and Cultural Center. Deadline for applications is Nov. 20 at 5 p.m.
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on land-use and planning legislation, decides on state law application and generally deals with building and development matters.
The Parks, Recreation and Human Services Commission helps provide recreational and leisure activities. Members also help devise programs for parks and human services.
The Cultural Arts Commission promotes cultural arts activities and ensures maintenance of cultural facilities. It also establishes and maintains cultural programs.
The Brea Foundation is a nonprofit public agency responsible for assigned property management and other income projects, such as the Brea Mall.
The Brea Beautification Committee provides information and programs to keep the city clean and beautiful; the Historical Committee advises the council on historical preservation and promotes public awareness of the city’s history.
