Countywide : Women Voter Panel to Discuss the Ballot

Share

The importance of understanding the choices facing voters in the Nov. 3 election will be the topic of a special presentation tonight at the Mariposa Women’s Center titled “Seize the Power.”

A representative from the Orange County chapter of the League of Women Voters will lead a nonpartisan discussion on the pros and cons of the various California ballot initiatives voters must decide on.

“Many people feel unempowered and think their vote doesn’t matter,” said Linda Heiser, a spokeswoman at the center. “We felt one of the reasons people don’t vote is they don’t know what to vote for. The propositions are written by lawyers and are hard to understand.”
