Two men were clinging to life Monday after surviving a Sunday-morning car accident in Del Mar that killed a San Marcos woman and two Navy SEALS, and injured three others.

Michael Brooks, 25, of Carlsbad, remained at Sharps Memorial Hospital on Monday in serious condition from hip and head injuries. Ronald Williams, 27, of Arizona, was in critical condition Monday at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, a hospital spokeswoman said. Williams, a Navy SEAL, is a petty officer 3rd class, a Navy spokesman said.

The two men killed in the crash were Marshall Stanley Fant, 23 and William French, 22, a spokesman for the medical examiner said. Angela Renee Limina, 20, of San Marcos was also killed in the crash.

Fant and French were both SEAL petty officers 3rd class from Florida, Operations Officer Lt. Julio Gomez said.

Officials said four SEALs and a female companion were driving west on Via de la Valle at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, returning to Solana Beach from a fellow SEAL’s wedding in San Diego. A southbound car driven by Limina, with Brooks as a passenger, ran the red light on Old Highway 101, hit the SEALs’ vehicle and sent both vehicles rolling. Neither driver is suspected of speeding or of driving under the influence.

Michael Ratliff, 21, driver of the SEALs’ vehicle and also a petty officer 3rd class with the SEALs, was the only occupant of the vehicle wearing a seat belt and was treated at Scripps Memorial and released, Deputy Sheriff David Mcnary said.

The fifth person in the vehicle, Denise Degos, 27, of La Mesa, was reported in good condition Monday at Scripps Memorial, hospital officials said.
