Even Catfishers Earn Stripers at Silverwood

At least a couple of striped bass fishermen at Silverwood Lake were not outdone by a catfish angler, who landed a 19-pound striper by accident.

Willie Garrett of San Bernardino took his 19-pound striper with a catfish combination of shrimp and meal worms.

Russ Seese of Rancho Cucamonga, however, topped that with a 29-pound striper that hit his surface lure. Allan Cole of Lancaster also beat the fish with a 23-pounder that struck his homemade lure.
