Richard Thieriot, president of Chronicle Publishing Co., has announced that he will step down next year from his post of chief executive.

Thieriot said he will continue to serve as publisher and editor of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Thieriot’s move is part of the company’s effort to change the management from purely family run to include non-family managers.
