Countywide : Inspectors Briefly Close 4 Restaurants

Share

County health officials briefly shut down three restaurants in Oxnard and one in Simi Valley for health violations last month, according to a report released this week.

Taqueria Guadalajara in Oxnard was closed four days in September while owners eradicated a cockroach infestation so severe that inspectors found the insects on a table with open food, on the walls and inside a coffee maker, the report said. The business, at 3045 Saviers Road, was reopened on Sept. 28 after owners cleared the roaches out and hired a pest control company to keep them away, the report said.

Inspectors with the county’s Environmental Health Division also closed down Vincenzo’s Pizza at 1869 Erringer Road in Simi Valley on Sept. 29 because cockroaches and other unsanitary conditions were observed. It was reopened the following day when owners corrected the conditions, the report said.

Two other Oxnard eateries, the Rodrigues Cafe at 165 N. Hayes St. and La Gloria Super Market at 430 S. Oxnard Blvd., were closed last month because of water violations. Each was reopened the following day after the violations were corrected, according to the report.
