Playa Vista Plan’s Impact

Share

Instead of Rebuild L.A., how about Restore L.A.? The difference in philosophy is that the latter strives to preserve and enhance the quality of this city in the process. Let’s begin by standing up against the massive Playa Vista development.

Does this city and its people truly need and benefit from over 28,000 more people and over 200,000 more vehicle trips per day crammed into this small area?

Consider that long after those who will profit from this development are gone, the taxpayers of Los Angeles will be left with the responsibility of maintaining the infrastructure for this “city within a city,” forced to repair its streets, provide police protection and deal with its waste.

Better yet, let’s restore the wetlands that remain in this area. The Ballona Wetlands can still be preserved. In fact, this may be our last chance. Wildlife and endangered species would benefit.

So let us not just rebuild Los Angeles, let us carefully restore and improve its unique character as well.
