VENTURA : Recycling Office Plans Market Tours
The Ventura Recycling Office and the League of Women Voters are sponsoring supermarket tours for residents who want to become ecologically minded shoppers.
The Environmental Shopping Tours, which began early this month, are being held at nine grocery stores. Each tour takes less than an hour.
The purpose of the tours is to make consumers more aware of packaging of products they buy, said Eric Werbalowsky, recycling coordinator for the city.
Shopping tours are scheduled for Saturday and Oct. 28, Nov. 7, Nov. 12, Nov. 14 and Nov. 17. For reservations call the city recycling office at 650-0884.
