PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : In Terms of Records, It Looks Better
The Rams were 3-3 at this point last season and are 2-4 this year, but it might be fair to say things are looking up.
The Rams’ four losses have all come on the road against teams with winning records. But their next three opponents--the New York Giants, Atlanta and Phoenix--have a combined mark of 5-11 and the Giants’ and Cardinals’ games will be at Anaheim Stadium.
Middle linebacker Larry Kelm isn’t the only Ram defender getting pushed around these days, but backup Leon White, a 6-foot-3, 242-pound seven-year veteran acquired off waivers Sept. 22, may be playing more in upcoming weeks. White, already a starter on the goal-line team, had an interception in the end zone and a 40-yard return against the Saints Sunday.
Injury update: Flipper Anderson, who missed a couple of days of practice last week because of a sore hamstring, is still hobbled and will probably take it easy in practice again this week. Coach Chuck Knox says he expects Anderson to be ready Sunday, however.
Safety Pat Terrell, who suffered a hip pointer against the Saints, is also expected to play.
