THOUSAND OAKS : Teen-Ager Held in Theft of Guitar
A Thousand Oaks teen-ager was in the doghouse--literally--minutes after an expensive guitar was stolen from a Thousand Oaks music store Friday, authorities said.
Jason Jones, 18, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft after sheriff’s deputies found him huddled inside a doghouse in a residential neighborhood less than two blocks from the Instrumental Music Co.
Employees at the music store, at 772 Thousand Oaks Blvd., reported that a $2,000 Ibenez guitar had been stolen about 3 p.m. by a man fitting Jones’ description, deputies said.
A search of the area quickly turned up the youth, officials said. The guitar was recovered on a ledge in a drainage ditch nearby, deputies said.
Jones was booked into Ventura County Jail with bail set at $5,000.
