Jefferson 27, South Gate 7--Jefferson’s defense shut down South Gate in a Southeastern Conference game, with safety Ed Morse snagging five of the team’s seven interceptions.
Morse also put Jefferson on the scoreboard first, catching a 14-yard strike from quarterback Marcus Johnson in the first quarter.
Ed Morse’s two brothers also got into the scoring act. In the third quarter, Tyrone Morse returned a 23-yard interception for a touchdown. And Ed Morse threw a 23-yard touchdown strike to his brother, Ronald, in the fourth quarter.
