Great ‘Company’: A concert version of the 1970 ground-breaking, award-winning musical “Company,” featuring all surviving members of the original Broadway cast, will be performed Jan. 23 at the Terrace Theatre of the Long Beach Convention Center as a benefit for the Long Beach Civic Light Opera and AIDS organizations. Producer Barry Brown, who is putting together the unprecedented event, expects Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics), George Furth (book) and Harold Prince (producer-director) to be on hand. Tickets for the special event range from $25-$150. The evening is dedicated to the memory of three “Company” figures: Michael Bennett, who choreographed the show on Broadway; performer Larry Kert, who succeeded Dean Jones in the lead, and producer Fritz Holt, who stage-managed the original production.
