Two men accused of desecrating a Del Cerro temple with spray-painted swastikas and dozens of anti-Semitic epithets pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of committing a hate crime and two misdemeanor charges of vandalism.

Jeffrey John Miles, 18, of Allied Gardens and Daron Edward Stinton, 18, of San Carlos are charged with vandalism of religious property, a felony hate crime.

Temple Emanu-El, near San Diego State, was attacked Aug. 21.

Miles and Stinton are free on $15,000 bail.

Another man charged in the case, Marc Edward Lee, 19, of Allied Gardens, pleaded not guilty Friday to the same charges.
