NO MINER AFFAIR: Don Abajian, a USC Trojan fan from Fullerton who graduated in the Frank Gifford days, acknowledges that some alumni weren’t too thrilled about George Raveling the first few years after he became basketball coach in 1986. . . . “In the beginning, he wasn’t winning; but now he is, so people are excited about him. You know how that goes,” Abajian says. Raveling will speak tonight at an open $18 dinner at the Ramada hotel in Santa Ana to support the Orange County Trojan Club. With star player Harold Miner gone to the pros, Abajian jokes, “We all want to know if there is life after Miner.”
