Cable Network Discloses Unauthorized Payment: BET Holdings Inc., the Washington, D.C.-based parent company of cable TV network Black Entertainment TV, said it is trying to recover $700,000 in “unauthorized” payments made during the last year. The disclosure came in the company’s fiscal fourth-quarter earnings statement. BET did not elaborate and said it did not know how much of the amount it could recover. Last week the company announced the departure of its chief financial officer and comptroller after a shake-up of the finance department.
