JACUMBA : Driver Dies as Car Hits Embankment
A 38-year-old man was killed when his car swerved from the fast lane and overturned on Interstate 8, authorities said Wednesday.
Roberto Jaquez Nevarez of Encinitas, a roofer, was thrown from his car and killed. The accident occurred at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Nevarez had been driving alone west on I-8 at more than 65 m.p.h. when his car hit the rock bank and overturned a mile east of the Carrizo Gorge Road underpass, the California Highway Patrol said.
